01

Distinguish the available actions

Closing a tab removes the view from your screen. Signing out asks the service to end the relevant signed-in state, while clearing stored data affects the browser’s local records. These are different actions, and none should be described as automatically ending every session on every other device.

02

Review remembered access

Options such as “remember me” can keep a session available beyond a single visit. Consider the device before choosing them, especially when another person can use the same browser profile. Avoid saving account access on a public or shared computer simply to make a short task more convenient.

03

Check session controls when provided

Some services show recent devices or active sessions and offer a way to revoke them. Availability and detail vary. If an entry is unfamiliar, follow the service’s verified security guidance and review credentials where appropriate. This publication has no reader login or account-session dashboard of its own.
