01

Understand the basic difference

Cookies can accompany matching web requests under browser rules. Local storage is browser storage that a page’s scripts can read and write; it is not automatically attached to each request in the same way. Either mechanism needs to be understood in the context of what a particular site actually does.

02

Read this publication’s specific behavior

The standard pages can save an optional reading list in local storage when you use that feature. This package does not create reader accounts, use tracking or set cookies. Its AMP pages do not use browser storage. Server access logs are a separate matter controlled by the hosting environment.

03

Manage site data deliberately

Browser settings usually let you inspect or clear data for individual sites. Removing this publication’s local storage removes a locally saved reading list. Clearing data across all sites can also affect unrelated preferences or signed-in sessions, so review the scope before confirming the action.

MERITKING GİRİŞ / A quick checklist

A quick checklist

  • Check the purpose of stored data, not just its technical name.
  • Clear one site’s data when that is all you intend.
  • Expect a locally stored reading list to disappear when removed.
