Make text comfortable to follow
Try text-size or zoom settings if paragraphs feel cramped. Your browser and operating system may offer separate controls, and their effect can vary by page. Rotate the device when a wider view helps, but return to portrait if longer lines make it harder to keep your place.
Keep the browser controls visible
Full-screen overlays can make an address difficult to inspect. Use the browser’s address bar to confirm where you are, particularly before following an external link. Page graphics that imitate an app toolbar are still part of the page and should not be confused with trusted browser controls.
Read by section when time is short
Use descriptive headings and related articles to choose a clear stopping point. Save the article in your browser, or use this publication’s reading list on standard pages when available. The AMP view focuses on reading; its saved-list controls are not part of that version.
A quick checklist
- Adjust text size before settling into a long article.
- Check links using the browser’s own address controls.
- Choose a section to finish before switching tasks.
